		<description>Good thoughts Anne.  My experience has been though, that the donate or tip jar method can actually hurt long term. When a site grows to the point that charging IS an option, people who have seen the tip jar for some time on the site often assume if the content wasn&#039;t worth charging for initially, it probably hasn&#039;t changed.

Most people won&#039;t make much of anything with a donate button anyway, so the best solution may be to just put the pay wall up as soon as possible and work hard to grow the subscriber base as they go along.</description>
